Guernsey's latest issue is EUROPA, with the theme "united in the love of stamps". There are six stamps in this issue, all of them very different from each other. Guernsey Stamps' website tells us more about the EUROPA stamp programme, which is 70 years old this year. "EUROPA is a long standing tradition that Guernsey Post has taken part in for 50 years. Issued annually, Guernsey’s EUROPA stamps interpret shared themes through subjects connected to the Bailiwick’s heritage, people and environment, creating a distinctive collecting series within the wider European programme.

"The 1 April 2026 release continues the story with the 70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United in… theme, to commemorate seven decades of EUROPA stamps. Guernsey’s interpretation of this theme - United in the Love of Stamps – celebrates the shared passion of collectors and postal administrations.

"Over several decades, Guernsey’s Europa stamps have formed a miniature illustrative record of changing themes and design styles, while remaining part of a familiar annual programme enjoyed by philatelists across the globe. Guernsey Post is delighted to celebrate this anniversary and hopes the stamps will continue to be enjoyed and preserved by collectors for many years to come."

There is also a miniature sheet for the £1.54 value, which shows people around tables looking at stamps. Design Quality - I think the designs are actually really strong. They’re colourful and eye-catching, especially the ones with the hearts and bright backgrounds. The individual stamps are very different but they work well together.

Some of the stamps feel quite minimalist, some feel more illustrative like a poster, and others feel more abstract and artistic. The £1.54 stamp looks like something you’d see in a gallery, and it’s not obvious at first what it means. Others feel more emotional and detailed, like they’re trying to show a real feeling.

Overall, the artistic quality seems pretty high because everything looks polished and well thought out. The colours match nicely. Even though the styles are different, they still feel like part of the same set. 8/10

Theme / Subject Choice - The theme “united in the love of stamps” is a fantastic idea. How many stamps actually celebrate stamp collecting? They have used hearts and people to show connection—it makes sense and feels positive. 9/10

Historical and Cultural Relevance - 2026 is the 70th anniversary of the Europa programme and also 50 years since Guernsey’s first Europa stamp. That makes this issue feel more important. 9/10

Innovation and Creativity - I think they’re pretty creative. The different styles—like the abstract dots one and the balloons—make each stamp feel different instead of all the same. Some are more artistic than others, but overall they work well together. 7/10

Collectability - Europa stamps already seem like something collectors care about, so this set feels like it would be popular. I would imagine people who love the idea of celebrating stamps will also find them appealing. 8/10

Personal Appeal - I alike these because they’re colourful, positive and are both serious and fun at the same time. They're interesting and the design is impossible to ignore. The miniature sheet also definitely adds something and is a great item on its own. 8/10 Overall score - 48/60
