A few days ago Xanthe wrote a review of the new Easter stamp for Croatia, so today I am reviewing a different Easter stamp, this time from Hungary.
As Xanthe has already said, a lot of European countries have a tradition of issuing Easter stamps.
This is very different from Croatia's stamp, which showed part of a religious service. Here we have a fun and very colourful stamp showing an egg and Easter bunny made up of flowers. There are also plenty of flowers in the picture. This is a celebration of Easter and also a reminder that Easter is in spring and is about new life in lots of ways.
Design Quality - This is a clever design that has created Easter symbols from flowers. This combines Easter and the celebration of new life and rebirth with the reminder that spring is here, which is often the start of new life. 8/10
Theme and Subject Choice - I agree with Xanthe that Easter stamps are a very good choice for stamps and some countries have a tradition where they are as important as Christmas stamps. 7/10
Historical and Cultural Relevance - Easter stamps, even stamps like this that are bright and fun, celebrate traditions. 8/10
Innovation and Creativity - I think making the egg and bunny from flowers is very creative and a good way to make an important point about what Easter is. 9/10
Collectability - I can imagine there will be a lot of people who want to add this to their collections, especially if they're into Easter stamps. 8/10
Personal appeal - I absolutely love this stamp because the design is so good. It's a great celebration of Easter. 9/10
Overall score - 49/60
